Increasing number of international exhibitors and visitors
A total of 417 companies from 26 countries presented their products and services on an area of 26,200 sqm. The proportion of international exhibitors was 40%, reflecting the exhibition's relevance for the European market.
The SMTconnect 2019 attracted 13,050 visitors, 35% of whom came from a total of 60 countries. In addition to the DACH region, the following countries were the most strongly represented: Italy, Czech Republic, Hungary, Great Britain, China, the Netherlands, Poland and France.
Visitors work primarily in the areas of production (27%), management (19%), research and development (17%), construction and technology (16%) and sales (10%). The fact that the SMTconnect is suitable for preparing business transactions is not least due to the audience's decision-making authority: 83% of visitors are involved in procurement decisions in their companies.
The exhibition characterized by in-depth discussions
In the 2019 exhibitor survey, 97% of the exhibitors praised the excellent discussions with visitors. "The quality of the conversations at the SMTconnect is particularly high. The visitors at our stand are experts who know what they want, right down to a specific order. We're leaving here with very substantive discussions and leads," confirms Stefan Janssen, Assistant General Manager, FUJI EUROPE CORPORATION GmbH.
According to this year's visitor survey, the top visitor industries were industrial electronics, EMS and automotive. The EMS industry was given its own platform at the SMTconnect 2019 with the newly staged special showcase area EMS Park. This was very well-received with 12 exhibitors and will be further expanded in the coming year. "Participation as an exhibitor at the EMS Park was definitely a good investment for us. The discussions we had were very substantial and offer great potential. But we were also able to take some new impulses with us," explains Dr. Lars Rebenklau, Groupmanager Systems Integration and Electronic Packaging, Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS.
Technology Days presented specialist knowledge
The Technology Days registered 164 bookings for substrates and soldering. 16% of the participants came from abroad. The main goal of the participants, to gain access to specialist technical knowledge, was almost completely achieved with over 80%. Due to the positive response, the Technology Days will be continued at the SMTconnect 2020.
The next SMTconnect will take place in Nuremberg from 5 - 7 May 2020. Up-to-date information and the latest event movie are available at smtconnect.com.
